Rest is Here

The day seems to be near an end.  The bus trip to the hotel was longer than expected: three hours.  Rain, darkness and heavy traffic all contributed.  We arrived at the hotel just in time for our 6:30 evening meal.  Through all of the “minor confusions” that took place, we had a good meal to revive our tummies and our spirits.

Elizabeth gives her regards to all her faithful blog followers,
and promises that she will post on her blog tomorrow.  Just don’t ask her about the cost of beer at dinnertime (its an interesting story; she’ll have to tell you sometime).  Harry and Helen are doing fine, just tired and a bit sore like the rest of us.  Harry has been on a hotel-wide search for a razor, and Helen has been making new friends.  Me?  I’m just making sure that my daughter eats.  Okay mom—she ate today.

We have to start our day early tomorrow—6:00 breakfast and 7:00 departure—because the streets around Galilee are going to be closed tomorrow…for a marathon!  Isn’t that a cool irony?  I thought about entering myself in the race, but then wisdom took over and I thought otherwise.  How great would that be, though: 26.2 around the Sea of Galilee?  Apparently runners are coming from across the world (which would be another of the many good reasons for me NOT to run).

Tomorrow’s agenda includes the Mount of Beatitudes, a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, dinner at a kibbutz, Tabgha, and the Jordan River baptismal site.  Continue to pray for our experience, and thanks for reading along.

  1. Sounds fun. 26.2 would be a great story to tell. I've always enjoyed my AIDS Walk days. Grace still doesn't get it. She asked to go to Grannie's today. Then had a fit. Tomorrow?? She asked later. I am expecting Gabe to go to school tomorrow.

  2. Hard to say who misses whom more, grandparents or grandchildren. They rested last night, not the best, but enough. The first night is always tough. Today is starting well. Rainy, but well. Have a good day!
